平时养护应由设备操作司机或运用单位专职人员担任,设备维护养护单位对平时养护内容负有监督和查看的责任.平时养护主要内容归纳为"十字操作法":清洁、紧固、光滑、调整、防腐.天天班前、班末10-30分钟,巡视设备各部分、各部位是不是正常,按规则加油光滑,留意机械运转声响是不是正常,做好清洁作业和交接班作业,以到达设备外观整洁,运转正常之目的,平时养护记载和交接班记载要制成固定表格,并作为档案管理.
